- Diagnosed with the intractable Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease as a second-year in junior high school, and lost feeling in her upper limbs (below the right elbow and the tips of her fingers on her left hand) and lower limbs (below both knees). Became drawn to parasports, which had been gaining media attention with the announcement of the Tokyo Paralympics, just as she was looking for something new to get involved in. Started laser beam rifle at 17 years old, and air rifle about two years later. Decided on shooting amongst the many parasports, because she wanted to do something new—something she had never seen or heard of before. She’d had experience with classical ballet and skiing before her illness.
She made her competitive debut in 2017, at the All-Japan Shooting Para Sport Rifle Championships, then went on to compete in various domestic and international tournaments. Qualified for the Tokyo Paralympics at the World Shooting Para Sport Championships in 2019. She was the first Japanese shooting athlete to qualify for the Paralympics. Her goal is always to beat her own personal record, even just by 0.1 points.
