  • Takemori has proven himself to be a consistent top player both in Japan and the world in the intellectual impairment class. His impairment is a developmental delay. He began playing table tennis after joining his junior high school team. When he was 21 years old, he won the gold medal at the Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games. At the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, he was the only participant from the Japanese national team to compete in the men’s table tennis intellectual impairment class. As of April 1, 2020, he ranks No. 7 in the world and has qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. He is an all-rounder with a powerful forehand. (August 2020)
