  • Loved playing sports since he was a child, and started playing baseball in the Little League as a first-year in elementary school; however, was diagnosed with Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy as a fourth-year. Quit baseball because he had difficulty seeing the ball. As a third-year in junior high school, he went with his mother to a Paralympian discovery event, and tried goalball. Began playing goalball as a result, finding success in both offense and defense with his rapid-fire left-handed throws. Quickly became a regular on the Japan national team, and has already qualified for the Japan national team for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. (August 2020)
