  • B1 Class. Became blind at the age of 20 due to a glaucoma. Started judo at the recommendation of a senior, and made his international debut at the 1st IBSA World Championships and Games Madrid in 1998. Won a bronze medal at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games, his first Paralympic Games. Was the flagbearer for the Japan team at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, after which he took some time away from the Paralympic Games.
