  • Discovered she had a rare disease that would paralyze her legs when she was a second-year in middle school, and developed difficulties walking. Began wheelchair tennis in 2002 and was ranked near the top in Japan, but retreated from competitive play in 2013. Discovered archery two years after her retirement, while looking for an individual sport she could focus on. Was inspired by fellow archer Tomohiro Ueyama’s performance at the Rio Paralympic Games and quickly began to show her potential, earning a No. 1 ranking in Japan within two years of starting the sport. Won a silver medal alongside Ueyama in the mixed event at the Indonesia 2018 Asian Para Games. Qualified to compete in the Tokyo Paralympic Games at the World Archery Para Championships in June 2019.
