  • Worked towards the National High School Baseball Championship starting from when he was a first-year in elementary school, and continued baseball into university, but was involved in a traffic accident in November 2013, as a first-year university student, that left him with an injured spine, and no feeling from the chest down. After his discharge from the hospital, he played wheelchair tennis, then wheelchair softball. Started canoe in 2017, experienced meteoric growth, and began competing in overseas races, representing Japan, in 2018. Currently employed as an athlete at a manufacturing company. Bases his training in Gifu Prefecture, where there is a good training environment, and does on-the-water training 5-6 days a week. His goal is to compete in and win a medal at the Tokyo Paralympics.
