  • Was involved in a rear-end collision while riding a motorcycle on the Kan-Etsu Expressway, and had his right leg amputated above the knee in September 2017. Heard about the Powerlifting event of the Paralympic Games from a friend while hospitalized, and decided to try it. In December of the same year, he traveled from the hospital to the All-Japan Para Powerlifting Championships and competed for the first time, winning his first championship title. His performance quickly improved, and in September 2019, he set a new Japan record of 175kg, putting him in reach of a ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Graduated from the Tokyo University of Science. Worked as an elementary school science teacher until March 2020. In April 2020, entered the Nippon Sport Science University Graduate School.
