    Public Awareness of and Interest in the Paralympics in Japan and Overseas Following the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

    Following surveys in 2014 and 2017, a third survey in October 2021 assessed awareness, interest, and engagement after Tokyo 2020. About 8,000 people in seven countries, including Japan, were surveyed to provide baseline data for evaluation and future promotion.

    Parasports and an Inclusive Society: Report on the First Survey

    In June 2018, The Nippon Foundation Paralympic Support Center and Nagano Prefecture launched the "ParaWave NAGANO" project to promote inclusion through sports. Online surveys in Nagano and nationwide evaluated its impact and awareness effects.

    Study of the Paralympics and Broadcasting

    In collaboration with the NHK Broadcasting Culture Research Institute, a post-PyeongChang survey examined how TV coverage affected people with disabilities and informed Tokyo 2020 broadcasting. Online surveys included 1,750 disabled and 500 able-bodied participants.

    The General Public’s Awareness and Interest in the Paralympics in Japan and in Some Selected Countries after the Rio 2016 Games: A Summary of Results of a Second Survey Conducted by The Nippon Foundation Paralympic Research Group

    Following the 2014 survey, a post-Rio 2016 survey assessed Paralympic awareness and impact on disability education. About 7,500 people in 13 countries, including Japan, were surveyed to provide baseline data for future awareness and education.

    The Nippon Foundation Paralympic Research Group (RGP) announces the Survey Results on the General Public’s Awareness and Interest in the Paralympics in Japan and in some selected countries

    A 2014 survey with the Sasakawa Sports Foundation assessed Paralympic awareness in Japan, Germany, the US, South Korea, France, and Australia, surveying 4,000 people online.
